Problem Possible cause Solution
The lamp goes on
and off as you
move the
appliance over
different colours
and materials.
The UV lamp is controlled
by a sensor in the bottom
of the appliance. This
sensor ensures that the
lamp goes out when the
appliance is 5cm off the
surface or the surface is
very dark.
The mode
indications on the
control panel do
not light up.
The appliance may
not be plugged in
properly.
Insert the plug into the wall
socket properly.
The voltage in your
home may not
correspond to
voltage indicated
on the appliance.
Check if the voltage in your
home is the same as the
voltage indicated on the
bottom of the appliance.
The appliance
beeps, the
tapping icon
flashes and the
red triangle lights
up.
The tapping feet do
not work because
they are blocked
by the fabric you
are cleaning.
Do not press the appliance
into the fabric too hard.
Make sure you apply light
pressure so that the
appliance glides over the
fabric easily.
The motor that
drives the tapping
feet may be
broken.
Take the appliance to your
dealer or a Philips service
centre. You can also
contact the Philips
Consumer Care Centre for
information.
The appliance
beeps, the UV
icon flashes and
the red triangle
lights up.
The infrared
sensors may be
dirty.
Clean the infrared sensors
with the cleaning brush.
