Remote Control Accessory Device Related Buttons

T X Then using the TV remote control with an

V V external accessory device, first make

certain the proper mode is selected and the

remote has been programmed to control the

device (see pages 30-31).

Press the SELECT button repeatedly

to highlight the proper accessory mode

(VCR, DVD, SAT, AMP, or ACC).

Point the top of the remote toward the

front of the accessory device’s remote

sensor window when pressing buttons.

External Accessory Mode Indicator

when the Select button is repeatedly pressed,

the indicator wiU highlight what mode the

remote control is in.

Select Button

Press repeatedly to highlight and select one of

the accessory modes within the Mode Indicator.

Rewind Button (Fast Reverse)

Press to rewind tapes or fast rewind DVD

discs. For some accessory devices, the STOP

button may have to be pressed first, then

REWIND. In playback mode, hold down the

button to view the picture moving rapidly in

reverse.

Stop Button ■ --------------------------------------

Press to stop the playback of a tape or disc

in playback, rewind, fast forward, and so on.

Record Button -----------------------------------

Hold the REC(ord/Sap) and PLAY ^ buttons

down to begin a VCR recording.

Remember, the VCR buttons on the remote wiU

not operate your VCR if those features are not

found on your VCR remote control.

NOTE: AU VCR functions (particularly

Search, Rewind, Fast Forward, etc.) wiU oper

ate the same as with the original VCR remote

control provided with the VCR.

Power Button

Press to turn the accessory device ON and

OFF.

Pause Button II

Press to temporarily stop the videotape,

DVD disc, etc., during a playback or

recording. Press again to release Pause.

Fast Forward Button (Wind Forward) ►►

Press to rapidly advance a videotape, DVD

disc, etc. For some devices, you may need

to press the STOP button first, then the

FAST FORWARD button. In playback

mode, hold the button down to view the

picture moving rapidly in the forward

direction.

■ Play Button ^

Press to begin playback of a videotape or

DVD disc, etc.

Channel + and - Buttons

Press to scan up or down through the chan

nel numbers using the external accessory

devices tuner (some accessory devices do

not have channel tuners).

Number Buttons

Press buttons for the direct selection of

external device channels if the unit is

equipped with a tuner.

TV/VCR Button

Press while in the VCR mode (the VCR indi

cator on the front of the unit wiU light) to view

the playback of a tape. Press again to place in

the TV position (the VCR indicator light wiU

go off) to view one program whUe recording

another program.
